Do You Like It? Keep Doing It.

Sometimes I have this thing with blogging, it's almost like an overflow of ideas. I have so many pictures in mind but at the same time...the set up, the outfit, finding the time is always a factor. 

I don't know if any of my fellow bloggers can relate to that. Sometimes by the time I'm even ready to take the picture, someone has blogged something similar and then I will just toss the entire idea out. I know, I know...I've been told many times I should just take the damn picture anyway but I just can't. The worst thing is to be accused of copying someone when you haven't....believe me, I know that from personal experience. There are people I take notes from and by 'take notes', I mean..I try to break down their editing skills and apply them to my own skills that I've already learned. Is that bad? No. I don't think so at least. I myself am all too willing to share any skills I've learned. And just how some blogs love to brag that they don't edit. I brag that I do. I don't edit my sponsored items but if I want to mess with lighting or focus, blur, etc..I have the programs and the tablet to make it happen. It's part of my enjoyment in blogging, we all do it in different ways, as long as you enjoy what you're doing that's all that matters.
Same with my style of clothes. If I like what I am wearing, that's pretty much all that matters. Everyone styles differently. Everyone thinks they look amazing but SL has definitely underlined the 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' saying for me. What you think looks amazing, might look like a big ass mess to me & vice versa. So all you can go by is your own perspective, as I do mine.
My reasons for bringing all of this about is that in one of my groups the other day, I saw a question about blogging and I saw this person being flooded with bad information. I just watched and read, I wasn't about to be lost amongst the others chatting there.
All I really wanted to say was,  1. If you're blogging for an SLebrity status or to get free things, you're wasting your time. While you have one sponsor giving you their newest release, you will realize quickly that you have to buy most things around those few sponsored items. It costs money to blog. It is NOT free. It costs personal time. And that's not all. Wall blogging is awesome but it takes a special skill to stand there and get all the views and favs you want. I think Petra Messiopetra is one of my favorite Flickr bloggers that can stand in front of a wall and make you gawk. There are many more too but she is one of the ones I takes notes from.
2. I As long as you like it, keep doing it. Don't let anyone change it. Don't let other bloggers get you down. We're in an ever rotating blogger world. They come, they go, they rise to the top, they fall. It's how it works. So do it all simply because you enjoy it.
And these are all things I still practice myself mind you. Things I tell myself when discouraged or overwhelmed.  "Do You Like It? Keep Doing It."

Okay okay end rant. This is a late blog as I was super sick the past few days but I'm doing alright now <3 
So I hope everyone has made it to all the events including The Fantasy Collective because there is a ton of badassery there including this hair I am wearing! Reminded me lots of Yolandi so tuuune in like a few secs here <3

Well hello again! 

So glad we're nearing the end of the week, it's been a long one. 

The events that have opened recently have been pretty awesome! I hope you've all had a chance to make it to them. Don't worry, I will have them linked below for you to pop over and play grabby hands. 

Glam Affair released several different skin tones for the Lelutka Mesh head and I have to say, I am in love with so many of them! Here is a closie of the different shades.

The one I am wearing in the picture is #14, a rare and so very gorgeous. For my pale skinned lovers, this is one you will want. With that fierce eyeliner on such porcelain skin, it definitely is a head turner! Maybe it's just me, maybe not but the eyebrows seem to have changed too. Fuller, fluffier and more defined...all things that none of us women mind!

I won't talk your pretty lil heads off tonight as I still have such things to show you. But I will be back again really soon.

"Everyone You Meet Is Fighting A Battle You Know Nothing About..."

After my little break from SL, I came back to some upsetting news. Not about me, not even about someone I know personally, but about a person we all recognize in name and work. You've probably worn her work and not even realized it! Owner of AngelRed Couture, 3D mesh creator Lexi Zelin as we know her in world, Heather Crawford in real life was recently diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma (cancer).
I can't even imagine what she is going through...but I do know we can all do our little part to help. Because Second Life is a virtual world, I think we often forget that there are real people behind that avatar. We are a society all our own. We have our community, we have each other. This is a time to let that really shine. A time to embrace one of our own while she's dealing with this. A time to not only help her and her family, but also a time to show just how much we are capable of loving and caring.
Like I said, I don't know her personally (although I would totally chat it up with her!), but I do know we're both mothers, we're both hard working women...and all of us agree that Cancer needs a damn beat down! It has long since been on my wishlist to see a cure for Cancer. Nobody should have to deal with it, nobody should be made to walk it alone.
So The Lexi Project was created in world as a means for all of us to do our part in helping Lexi. I know a lot of us don't have tons of money but what needs to be remembered here is that there are a LOT of us, and every little bit can amount to a whole lot if we all take a moment to visit and have fun snagging the goodies because 100% of the proceeds go directly to Lexi!
There are over 375 designers (and more being added still!) that are participating so, I know everyone can find something. I saw some of my all time favs there. DRBC, Dark Passions, Deadpool, CX, Maxi Gossamer, The Little Bat, Razor, Belleza, Dirty Stories, Speakeasy....the list is just awesome! I love that so many designers are participating in this.

Although I could have done this picture in so many ways, I decided to go with a fighter. Those that have beat cancer are exactly that, fighters, some of the best! I know Lexi will do just that.

Personal note: I wanted to say that although we don't know each other...mother to mother, I already know you're strong. Moms were built tough. You are being thought of and you are loved! Don't just beat it, knock it the f<3k out!

I have a helluva lot of fun taking photos where I need to mentally come up with a character, background, storyline, etc. Since blogging, I don't have much time to get in any Roleplay and it was something I loved doing very much in SL (once upon a time). So I guess these photos are my lil release. A small delve into the world of roleplay, if only for a moment. 

The Fantasy Collective is open and their theme this round is pretty awesome! I found myself on a 'right click/buy' frenzy and bought it all (well, a lot).

Death Row Designs never ceases to amaze me with their awesome releases. Now that Jaimy has brought her sister in on the creation process and ownership of Death Row Designs, I expect DOUBLE the awesomeness! I really feel like they brought it with this awesome mask and staff. That pretty much laid my photo ideas out for me and before I knew it, I was hexing all the ebil people that ever crossed my path! (all part of the roleplay storyline lol)

The outfit was another goodie there I couldn't leave behind. I simply loved it. From the lil bones and feathers to the muddy feet. Oh and...don't forget to grab that awesome set of eyes there!
