"Everyone You Meet Is Fighting A Battle You Know Nothing About..."

After my little break from SL, I came back to some upsetting news. Not about me, not even about someone I know personally, but about a person we all recognize in name and work. You've probably worn her work and not even realized it! Owner of AngelRed Couture, 3D mesh creator Lexi Zelin as we know her in world, Heather Crawford in real life was recently diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma (cancer).
I can't even imagine what she is going through...but I do know we can all do our little part to help. Because Second Life is a virtual world, I think we often forget that there are real people behind that avatar. We are a society all our own. We have our community, we have each other. This is a time to let that really shine. A time to embrace one of our own while she's dealing with this. A time to not only help her and her family, but also a time to show just how much we are capable of loving and caring.
Like I said, I don't know her personally (although I would totally chat it up with her!), but I do know we're both mothers, we're both hard working women...and all of us agree that Cancer needs a damn beat down! It has long since been on my wishlist to see a cure for Cancer. Nobody should have to deal with it, nobody should be made to walk it alone.
So The Lexi Project was created in world as a means for all of us to do our part in helping Lexi. I know a lot of us don't have tons of money but what needs to be remembered here is that there are a LOT of us, and every little bit can amount to a whole lot if we all take a moment to visit and have fun snagging the goodies because 100% of the proceeds go directly to Lexi!
There are over 375 designers (and more being added still!) that are participating so, I know everyone can find something. I saw some of my all time favs there. DRBC, Dark Passions, Deadpool, CX, Maxi Gossamer, The Little Bat, Razor, Belleza, Dirty Stories, Speakeasy....the list is just awesome! I love that so many designers are participating in this.

Although I could have done this picture in so many ways, I decided to go with a fighter. Those that have beat cancer are exactly that, fighters, some of the best! I know Lexi will do just that.

Personal note: I wanted to say that although we don't know each other...mother to mother, I already know you're strong. Moms were built tough. You are being thought of and you are loved! Don't just beat it, knock it the f<3k out!

Oh So Glam {Skin Fair 2015}

Hey dolls!

Has everyone rampaged into the Skin Fair?! One of the most anticipated events evar!
I was able to take a peek around the two sims and snag a couple favs. So I get to focus on that for a few days. Hoping to keep it all skin and very little clothing lol. It should be fun. It's not something I am really used to so, here we go!
The first one I am show casing isn't a skin place a blog for, just one I loved and given, just a tad bias since Glam Affair is so Maitreya friendly and we all know Gia loves the Maitreya body so much!
There are several options for this skin but I loved the smokey look around the eyes of course. It's always been one of my favorite looks in RL and SL!
If you don't have the Maitreya body (for some odd reason!), Glam Affair skins are all included in the Maitreya body hud so, if you own Glam Affair skins, all you have to do is match up your body color with the skin you're wearing!
In typical Glam Affair fashion, the new skin is super soft and gorgeous. The eyebrows seemed a bit more defined to me and I loved that! But maybe that was just me lol.
Okay so on to the next one but this is definitely a stop you should make! Demo and then buy!

Keep in mind that a script limit will be enforced for the first week of the event to try and keep the lag down. Wear your system clothes and remove any unnecessary HUDS, keep all attached pets and babies at home with sitters, etc. No need to attach the entourage while you're demo'ing skins believe me! Let's keep it nice and clean and get in and out with alll the goodies!
Also, Skin Fair isn't only skins so, get them lindens ready to flail. I saw some ah-may-zin tattoos, make-up and other neatness there so, take your time and browse!

Hello hello! Hope you all have been having a great weekend. It warmed up a bit on my side of the world so that was a good thing. By 'warmed up', I mean it got to be like high 20's! Woo!
So I had to sneak in a quickie because I loved this lil outfit as soon as I saw it. It came with another I loved too so gotta get on that! This is Insanya for Whore Couture. Hey guys and dolls! I thought I would go to another part of Gia's World this week. It's not a part of me that is seen too often but it is a part of me that is there nonetheless. 

I always hope that my readers, my friends, everyone...understand why I named my blog 'Gia's World'. Not to be a narcissist haha. No, I named it that because there are SO many different sides of me. I can't just claim to blog one style of clothing when I love so many different styles. From Goth to Rockabilly, Fantasy, Fancy, Chic, Casual, and oh so many in between, it's all found in Gia's World. They're all different parts that make up me...Gia <3

So Sn@tch hasn't made an appearance here in awhile. Blame Ivey, hurry, everyone go prod her for not making these sooner lol. So she makes these gorgeous lil hip hugging pants and they just so happen to have the name 'Gia' in it (cuzshelovesmelongtimemhmm) and so I HAD to have them in Gia's World! They come in several different colors, have a nice rounded tush (no odd flat butt), and fit the Maitreya mesh body really well, which is what I have on in the pic and rarely take off. 

Mind you, this is Ivey's previous release....because this woman already released more Sn@tch goodies! Seriously, she is so very hard to keep up with. I almost never ever have a chance to blog Livalle shoes as they're on for an event so I had to haul ass to get a pic in, especially because I thought the style of these shoes for the 21 Shoe Event was pretty awesome! Slinky and sexy, full of class and sass. Versatility wins with these. I can wear them with my comfy shirt, dress them down with a pair of jeans or dress them up business casual, I can see it all now. So I hope you all have had fun shoe hopping. 

I know there are a lot of events open right now and it's insanely hard to keep up with everything, oh believe me...I know this! Just when you think you've got everything you want, you see something else and you're like awwwwww damn! I so know the struggle. But we're a selfish bunch, we want all the pretty thangs. Yep! Someone got me into watching 'Vikings'!! Finally. Where the hell has this show been all my life? It didn't take me but a few minutes to fall in love with it...all bias aside since the lead role 'Ragnar Lothbrok' has a striking similarity to my beau. Be all the jelly gals! I love the story line, I love the scenery, the costumes, the acting...I love it all. I only just finished season one, have to finish season 2 because season 3 is right around the corner! Date night with a gal pal tonight to binge watch season 2! So excited!

So I took this opportunity to mash up a lil Eudora awesome-ness and create a nice like Viking outfit for myself before running off into battle alongside the men. Because yes, the beau made sure to tell me that although they thought it only to be men at first...they found that some of the bones that were buried with weapons and armor were that of females. Women were fighting right along with the men and I so so love that!
If you haven't invaded the Fantasy Gacha Carnival, go do so! There's so many things that'll steal your lindens. Even the randomness. Seriously, I will walk past a gacha, no idea what it really is but it looks insanely cute and so before I know it I have a few oddballthings in my inventory. That's okay though! We all find the right place and time to use them.

Macabre Burlesque!

It certainly isn't a surprise that I have a passion for my vintage fashion, styles, music, etc...that also includes Burlesque! When Burlesque is done right, oh my goodness, it is simply the sexiest thing ever. The dark side of me had to add a lil splash of macabre to my burlesque. Eudora's newest release at Uber was my inspiration for the shot. There is a top available for this outfit but I needed to add my lil skelly hands.Yes, they were dying to get their hands on me! <3
Now mind you, in case you are wondering...my stocking is obviously edited in photoshop! I was terrified to mess with that. After several tries though, I was happy with the turn out. the stockings are from a place I recently came across but will definitely be a constant in Gia's World, especially since she is in the process of making her store Maitreya and Omega friendly! \o/
When it comes to Burlesque, I don't know...there was always something about the stocking play that I found to be exceptionally sexeh! I don't have a foot fetish (do I? Lol) But I love that the women use such technique to tuck the stocking between their toes to tease you as they tug it off their leg  and hold it between their toes playfully  before slinging it off, so that look in my eye in this pic, yeah, that's exactly what it's about!

Into The Woods We Go!

Oh yes yes, I had another chance to do a collab with my loverly Anika...and I simply cannot say no to her! Especially while wearing such an adorbs lil coat. DRBC is in this round of Suicide Dollz so if you haven't been there to grab all the things, make sure to head over there and make it happen!
A friend took me out to dinner and a movie the other night and even though I had told her I heard the movie 'Into The Woods' wasn't so great, we went anyway...and it wasn't so great, not horrible though! Maybe it was just me, maybe it will be great for some people. I don't really take anybody's reviews into consideration, maybe you shouldn't either. All I am saying is that I kept falling asleep. I found the storyline to be boring, although they mashed up the fairy tales into one musical...I just couldn't get into it. That's NOT to say I don't like musicals either because I do, that one just didn't make the cut. If you decide to see it though, make sure to pay attention to Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk. I probably was more impressed by his lil performance. It definitely doesn't surprise me that he has been in other stage performances he's quite talented! Of course Meryl never fails either. I know the story has a great following and maybe the people that have had a chance to experience it live have a greater appreciation for it than we do, in any case, although all talented and great performances, it just wasn't for me.
But Back in SL---> There's a ton of events that opened and some just opening so Gia's World is a busy place right now! Eyes locked here loves, I will be back shortly!

I'll Be Waiting For the End of My Broken Heart

Can I talk to you all as friends? Can I pretend that we're close...that we've been friends for years and I am writing you a letter? In the past few weeks, months...I've not been too honest with you. I've told you real life has kept me busy and I didn't go in depth with it and I don't really want to. I know you have your problems and I am but another person, I don't want to burden you...but I wanted to let you know I am dealing with a lot. Physically, mentally, emotionally. Winter is never the best time to be around me anyway. Maybe it's this place I live in, the lack of Vitamin D is real! Lol. Don't worry though I am taking massive supplements!

With everything going on, blogging has been so hard for me to do. Not for lack of anything, the images in my head are never lacking. If I could grab the images right out of my head, I'd have over a hundred blog posts a day! But being real in my posts has been a struggle and I want to always be that. I want to be just the same Gia that I was the day I posted Ms. Zombcakes for the world to see! But the Gia in front of you right now is a broken one and so that is what I am giving you. So I will try to be honest with you from now on, and maybe my pictures might seem odd or sad but if they are, know that I am allowing you a glimpse into my head and feel free to share hugs. <3 So moving on...

Sn@tch I love you so! For years I have followed this shop and Ivey (owner of Sn@tch) never seems to let me down. Constant new releases at such great prices, snaggables, fishing at the mainstore and of course the riot boards that we all love! And if you meet a newbie, make sure to send them there! She's got a killer packet that often tempts me to make a new avi randomly lol.

Avi Choice Awards voting has started and I was so surprised when a notecard was sent to me, informing me that I was nominated. Honestly I checked to see if it was a mistake or something. I don't know how that happened but to place me amongst some of the bloggers that I admire most for their talent and photography skills, I've already won. I'm just little Gia amongst a sea of bloggers, having fun showcasing some of my favs and talking about randomness so for someone to notice what I'm doing...I'm just beyond words. When I saw this lil two piece by Skindustrial Bodyworks, it made Ms. Zombcakes pop right up from the grave! With the Frankie face and even cute lil Frankie buttons, it's a must have! Make your way over to Horror Haute and snag all the spooky goodness and prep yourself for Halloween which is approaching oh so sooon! It just melts my black lil heart to see the cute pumpkins and other Halloween decor out and about already!

I have a helluva lot of fun taking photos where I need to mentally come up with a character, background, storyline, etc. Since blogging, I don't have much time to get in any Roleplay and it was something I loved doing very much in SL (once upon a time). So I guess these photos are my lil release. A small delve into the world of roleplay, if only for a moment. 

The Fantasy Collective is open and their theme this round is pretty awesome! I found myself on a 'right click/buy' frenzy and bought it all (well, a lot).

Death Row Designs never ceases to amaze me with their awesome releases. Now that Jaimy has brought her sister in on the creation process and ownership of Death Row Designs, I expect DOUBLE the awesomeness! I really feel like they brought it with this awesome mask and staff. That pretty much laid my photo ideas out for me and before I knew it, I was hexing all the ebil people that ever crossed my path! (all part of the roleplay storyline lol)

The outfit was another goodie there I couldn't leave behind. I simply loved it. From the lil bones and feathers to the muddy feet. Oh and...don't forget to grab that awesome set of eyes there!

Just A Lil Monster! {Part I: DRBC Double Banger Special!}

Has everyone been to District 5 already? Yes? Voted? Scene? Yes? Awesome! Actually I was so torn! I loved a whole lotta things there, just ask my wallet!
But DRBC is participating in the event! Always amazed and excited with DRBC and the new releases. It's like a "Oh my God, what's she going to do next?!" kinda thing. So....here goes my first Double Banger Feature! I might try and do a couple of these with different designers often because...I love on too many of their things!
So my top is a District 5 release by DRBC and if you've been around the DRBC 'scene' then you know FK! Designs released these lil boots that match perfectly with the top. So I ran into this lil home at the Missing Mile sim and although I was so tempted to just bust in and take all the bloggie pics, I waited and sent the owner an IM and she was nice enough to let me shoot in her lil trailer. I just loved all the lil attention to detail and realism she had in there. Matched perfectly with the theme I was going for.
