Death Becomes Her {Elder Goth Style}

Well hello!
It hasn't been that long has it? Don't worry, I Have lots of stuff to show. I've been having quite a bit of fun with my SL, the styles...finding all the things I love!
Goth fashion is not new to Gia's World at all. In fact, it is worn often and happily! Those of you that have been residents of Gia's World for quite some time now, don't need to be told that either.
I almost see it like a challenge. With so many events always popping up around SL, there's only but a few that are darker themed ones. Suicide Dollz, Woeful Wednesdays, The Witching Hour. Then of course around Halloween, several pop up so that is usually when all the goths creep out of the coffins and come out to play! Fun times! But back to what I was saying, I almost find it to be a challenge that when I go to these events, the popular ones...Collabor88, Fameshed...Etc, for example, I pic out what things I can use to pair up with my gothy outfits. Sometimes I can luck out and find a few things both most times, I end up gathering stuff for my eclectic taste.
Needless to say, when I see darker stuff pop up randomly, I cheesy grin like a kid in a candy store!
Death Row Designs made this ahhhhh-mazing 15 LI carriage hearse and I... *sigh* fell in love with it! It has a HUD to change the color of the seats and curtains in the hearse and over a 100 poses, single, couple, clean and adult versions...for those girls that get...you know.
It just so happened that my beloved DRBC released this gorgeous gown for Suicide Dollz!
I had no other thought in mind but to pair the two together for a fabulously dark Elder Goth look and I just adore it! DRBC has also released some super cute jackets at Suicide Dollz, you won't want to miss ANY of it!

Hello again! A week flies by in a blink of an eye, I swear it. I hope yours went great though! Mine was filled with lots of work but I cannot complain. 

I have thoroughly enjoyed this style as of recent. For the longest time, in my minds eye when someone would say 'Goth', I guess I only really embraced a more sort of Victorian styled Goth but this 'Nu Goth' fashion, as they call it, I love love. I think it goes back to a more 80's goth, can tap into some Stevie Nicks-witchery even and all of that makes me happy! I'm still exploring it, embracing it, and making it my own. 

There's so much of it in Second Life right now as the trend grows and grows but, as always, I am picky. That's why I love this outfit so much. By far onr of my favorites as far as style and the detail on what I am wearing is just always so awesome because of course, it's DRBC!

This cute lil dress is already on the Marketplace. At 125L it is just a steal. Originally a strappy dress cute for the summer but I topped it with another DRBC fav of mine, the Open Leatherette and whipped it all up with these so so cuuuute shoes! These are ones you have to have! Hudded, all kinds of colors and the bottoms of the shoes are just awesome too!

I wont be a chatterbox, as I am going to try and get stuff done for more posts so...grabby hands on all the thangs!

Just had to get in a post for my Dark Passion...or Dark Passions because I have simply been blown away with the awesomeness emanating from there! As I am sure a lot of you have noticed, Dark Passions has tapped into the Pastel Goth, Creepy Cute...whatever you'd like to call it. Though my preference for the 'gothy' side tends to be more black/bats/Victorian-esque and I didn't think I would be able to go there with this part of the Nu-Goth stuff, I am kinda liking it!

This outfit definitely made its staple amongst my favs and will stay in my virtual closet for future and continuous use from now on! So I hope you all too will make note and come shopping with me to grab these goodies!

Also, check out my boots though! Lindsey Warwick has long since been one of my favorite shoe designers in Second Life. The quality of her shoes NEVER ever ceases to amaze me. Like, this boot makes me want to reach in the screen to rub my thumb on it and hear the squeaking noise! They're not released yet so prepare thine grabby hands (a lil birdy says next week maybe!) and get ready to snag them all in all the colors. AND!!! They're on my Maitreya bodyyyy!

"There Was A Time That The Pieces Fit, But I Watched Them Fall Away..."

It's seriously attack of the RO Wings lol. They're gorgeous though! You can't really help but love them and want to wear them in all different ways. I saw tons of lovely Victoria Secret-ish and happy lovey dovey posts so I am glad that side of the wings were covered. I figured I would go in the opposite direction.
Isn' that Gia's favorite direction to go during this sappy ass time of year too?! All I am excited about for February is the return of The Walking Dead. Yaaaaaay! Everyone can keep their chocolates and whatnot and I will be happy over here in my corner with the zombies...and Daryl Dixon!

These wings come in various colors. White, Black (as pictured), red, pink, purple and a almost prismatic color. All absolutely gorgeous and with a Fatpack available, that is the route you'll want to go. I am always too selfish to pick one color only.

With RL things calming down a bit this week, I am hoping to jump back into my regular schedule and hopefully play around with the wings some more. So I hope you never tire of seeing alllll the wing pics <3

The past few days...it has just so happened that I have run into a cluster f<3ck of goth issues. Such as..well I went to a lil event for SLGoth. I had fun meeting new people, meeting up with friends, dancing, listening to music and chatting the night away. That wasn't one of my issues, but it was something goth I ran into haha...anyway though, so I had to blog a few things and I am trying DESPERATELY to find certain gothy things on the market place, to NO avail! 

I'm in conversations with friends and they're saying, well look here and there but 'make sure its not noob goth'. Why is goth in SL still noob? Why hasn't it evolved as the rest of SL evolved into bigger and better things. Mesh bringing us a whole other world of gorgeous opportunities! Mesh body parts making vampires and all the other darkly/pale/other worldly beings of our goth nation so fun to play with now! There's no need people...no need at all to wear fangs painted on bottom lips anymore! YaaaaaaaaaaaaaaY lets celebrate! Now don't get me wrong, I'm not making fun of those that still do. I know some of you hang tight to them for whatever reasons have you...sentimental or whatnot. But..why not evolve?! Second Life has given us opportunities to grow, to build, to change things and make it our world. I think that's awesome! 

I can't say that ALL of the goth nation has been delayed. Some have indeed evolved, embraced the age of the MESH/HUDS/EVENTS and everything else and brought us some amazing things! I'm so thankful for them! I try to feature a little bit of all styles that catch my attention but when I find some good quality goth..you bet your sweet mesh ass it shall be a part of Gia's World!
I get excited to see people from my early goth days in SL doing new things and participating in events! A lot of them have some really good skill with texturing because that was what we had to work with back then. I hope to see many, many more!

I'll Be Waiting For the End of My Broken Heart

Can I talk to you all as friends? Can I pretend that we're close...that we've been friends for years and I am writing you a letter? In the past few weeks, months...I've not been too honest with you. I've told you real life has kept me busy and I didn't go in depth with it and I don't really want to. I know you have your problems and I am but another person, I don't want to burden you...but I wanted to let you know I am dealing with a lot. Physically, mentally, emotionally. Winter is never the best time to be around me anyway. Maybe it's this place I live in, the lack of Vitamin D is real! Lol. Don't worry though I am taking massive supplements!

With everything going on, blogging has been so hard for me to do. Not for lack of anything, the images in my head are never lacking. If I could grab the images right out of my head, I'd have over a hundred blog posts a day! But being real in my posts has been a struggle and I want to always be that. I want to be just the same Gia that I was the day I posted Ms. Zombcakes for the world to see! But the Gia in front of you right now is a broken one and so that is what I am giving you. So I will try to be honest with you from now on, and maybe my pictures might seem odd or sad but if they are, know that I am allowing you a glimpse into my head and feel free to share hugs. <3 So moving on...

Sn@tch I love you so! For years I have followed this shop and Ivey (owner of Sn@tch) never seems to let me down. Constant new releases at such great prices, snaggables, fishing at the mainstore and of course the riot boards that we all love! And if you meet a newbie, make sure to send them there! She's got a killer packet that often tempts me to make a new avi randomly lol.

Avi Choice Awards voting has started and I was so surprised when a notecard was sent to me, informing me that I was nominated. Honestly I checked to see if it was a mistake or something. I don't know how that happened but to place me amongst some of the bloggers that I admire most for their talent and photography skills, I've already won. Entirely Too Cute to Be Spooky!

Super cute sim I found there to take pics at. Thanks to the awesome Melusina Parkin, who I watch closely on Flickr, I am able to explore such awesome lil places in SL. This sim had a circus area, playground, even a house that would be considered the quintessential picket fence house, perfect for a loving family with a lil kid. I loved it! Make sure to pay it a visit. It went with my general theme of just wanting to let go and remind myself what fun is like..sometimes the ones we learn best from are kids.

So on to my style stuffs....

DRBC is in Suicide Dollz this round with some cuteness overload! I hope you've had a chance to visit and snag all the goodies this round. This hair is a must, especially for my doll/lolita lovers. I didn't even realize she included a bow with a HUD in the hair so it's not featured but it's gorgeous!

I will confess that I am not too much of a 'cutie' fan, and I know that is a style that is very much loved in SL, I just have my own opinion on it. Spooky cute? Yus. I do love it. I love the gothy lolita look too so why not crunch? Can't blog DRBC without adding a splash of DRBC on the side so I dug around in my DRBC folder and found one of the older tops, oldie but goodie (with appliers bewb luvers!). Double Creature Feature because...Nobody and I do mean NOBODY does Creature Feature like DRBC does. If you're wearing something Creature Feature and it's not DRBC, it's not done right. Nuff said!

Though I searched high and low for the pair of shoes I wanted to pair with the outfit...I just loved the Sn@tch heels with it!

Ivey (owner of Sn@tch) always keeps me on my toes and leaves me in awe with her awesomeness (as a person AND as a designer).

These two ladies I honestly adore. It's not easy finding shops in SL that steal your heart because of their kindness, creativity, originality, quality (we can keep going here!). For so many reasons...attach yourselves to these shops if any. 

My lil aliens went perfect with my Creature Feature stuff. Zorgies by Swagga are at OMGacha right now and though I couldn't score the ones I wanted...these are just as adorbs! I will pass on all the squishy animals in SL for a nice, luvable alien!

I'll Take What is 'Goth'? for $500 Please!

When I applied for World Goth Fair, one of the questions was 'How often do you blog 'Goth'?" maybe not those words exactly...something like that. Honestly, I sat there for a few thinking about it. Because...what is 'Goth'? I started thinking about my RL too...how many times have I been stereotyped as 'Goth' or got my goth card checked by someone who is, well of course, far Gothier than Thou. Goth to me....is something that is not tangible, maybe on some days not even visible. 

My photo above represents me and how I typically dress (somewhat like it anyway) on a typical day at work. In a business casual, office/cubicle type environment....now would you look at me and say 'Yeah she's goth'? Sometimes you just can't tell visually. It is a way of being, forever. Not a phase. Not something you will grow out of, not something you grow into, it simply is! 

I will tell you what....underneath my business casual look...I will always be Goth. No matter my age, how I am dressed...Goth is just a part of me always. We can only wish others wouldn't judge....even other Goths judge other Goths...when what we all really should be doing is simply admiring all the diversity amongst us. By the way, my 'gothy' music is often what gets me through my day at work. We're allowed to use headphones and so I can listen to what I wish, thankfully!

My sweater that I have on is by Sakide and I love it because it has multiple options via a HUD. I can wear it like this so that I can choose another shirt to wear with or I can use the HUD to show an awesome dress that can be used with it. 

My awesome heels are by Etchaflesh, but you won't be able to see all their awesomeness in that pic so here...

Also comes with a HUD that gives you so many options to play with different prints for different styles.

Impromptu bloggage! Some of the events I've had the pleasure of blogging are amazing in every way EXCEPT, some of them are too darn short! That was my feelings with The Fantasy Faire that just recently came to an end. So many things I would love to show and not enough time to show it all.

One of the outfits I was looking at and frowning as I was going to stow it away is by Gauze....but coincidentally, a good friend of mine messages me and tells me she is blogging it, she recently joined their blogger team. World Goth Fair is LIVE! So of course...that would mean Gia starts feeling sick >.< Noooo! I shall fight it off!

I was pretty amazed with The Little Bat  and their coat for World Goth Fair. Super cute! I couldnt wait to put it on and take pics. And it's been awhile since Dead Pool has visited Gia's World so I thought I would send some love in that direction. 

Also...my tummy piercing...I'm pretty much exclusively pierced by Cute Poison. I just havent found other piercings I love as much. Cute Poison is at the Dark Style Fair with more amazing piercings. I will be trying to include another one that I loved soon! 

By the way...not trying to be so 'Oh my goth!' but...I actually do love cemeteries. The calmness there is what I need sometimes. You don't find many people hanging around there and I guess the introvert in me kinda loves that. When people here prefer to go for lake walks, I love the huge cemetery in town. It has paved walkways, there's a little pond in the back and some of the statues are pretty amazing to see. 

Also, there is an inner feud with that quote I used to name this blog post. For the loves I have lost, I sometimes think that saying is ridiculous. But for my true loves, family members..that I have truly lost, that have passed on...I think that quote is so true. I would rather have had them for the time I did, then never had them at all. My heart is always with them <3

The Darkest Corners of My Mind Are Yours...

Can you embrace all that Gothness above? You better! World Goth Fair is right around the corner and then you're going to get a nice bombardment of all that is Gia! But for now...I am having SOOOO much fun with Pose Fair's awesome finds! Seriously, we can make the outfit and get the look together but what would our pictures be without poses? The poses make or break a picture in my opinion. That's why I love my fellow blog friends that give credit to the poses they're using in photos and who created them. Same as any other creator, it takes talent, originality, creativity and lots of it!
I admit that I am a pose collector in Second Life. I get upset (seriously) if there is a pose shop that I am not familiar with. If you're wondering...I was familiar with almost all at the Pose Fair. The ones I didn't know, I got familiar with real quick!

So this awesome crow pose prop is a find at The Pose Fair. There were several up for grabs but this one I loved most. Yes, because I like things dark looking and what not but also because one of the poses reminded me of the movie 'The Birds" haha, actually all the poses did! Aaaand I love that movie.
So about this pose prop, it has a land impact of 5. The wall textures are modifiable, however I did not modify them, I just preferred to show the original.  I also made the walls transparent and slid the prop to the edge of my platform for another insanely awesome look. It's a very fun prop to play with!

As for my gown...oh the luff!! I stalked down AD Creations because...there probably isn't one thing in this shop that I don't love! All pieces of art! Original mesh, very gothy, very unique! Expect to see it blogged so much. Also make your way to the shop yourself to see it's awesomeness!

My gloves are pretty badass. They're fitted mesh and have a nice HUD that lets you change your hand positions. That's right...no slink needed! *gasp* Yep, prepare to have them on at all times. I love them!

Hello again my luffs and stuff!
I had to get in a quickie (it sounds dirty, I know). As I was working on another outfit, I wandered over to Facebook briefly *coughs*....and realized The Witching Hour Gacha was going on! *le gasp* I hadn't realized it was so soon, nor had I realized it was only a day long. So while everyone is crowding the Luck of the Irish Gacha (and not letting me in! *shakes fist*), I tried my luck at this little spooky gacha instead and I am SOOOO glad I did.

I also wanted to blog the Sn@tch freebie for the Twisted Hunt. Holy hawtcakes Batman! It's things like this that should be shown to the newer SL players. Hunts are fun and with freebies like this, it's a win win! The dress is gorgeous and comes with scripted pentacle earrings and a necklace. But I wanted to show off the gacha goodies so although I LOVE the necklace, I am using a choker from the gachas.
Also the make-up I am wearing is a new snatch and grab at Sn@tch!  That means it's 50L!!

The hair...I am a weirdo I guess because I kind of fell in LOVE with this hair! You will find clothes there as well, a table set for a bit of conjuring fun, jewelry! Look at the brains on my rings!! Oh so zombilicious! Also some of the cutest teddies hanging by a noose ever.
