So What If It's Hot Out, I'll Still Be Wearing Black!

Hello luvs, did you miss me?! I missed blogging but the break was severely needed. It's just something that happens. Not only to bloggers but everyone in SL. Real life steps in and is over demanding. There is really nothing you can do about it. I am not going to go into my innermost personal issues with you but I will say that it's not only RL work that is exhausting me, just a lot of alllll the thangs! I wish I could continue functioning without any of it getting in the way but that's just not how I am wired. So there is your answer as to why I haven't blogged every day. Plus, blogging for me has always simply been my creative outlet. A way for me to show off some of my favorite fashion designers and all my other fav things in SL. It was never about anything else. So when it became too demanding, I had to reassess it all. I love my sponsors btw. They have always been some of the most supportive and understanding people on the grid. I'd rather be without a sponsor than have anyone think I am just getting everything for free. I am certainly not. Hopefully I will be able to get in more blogging time now though. So anyway, onto other things!

Summer is here and holy hellballs it has been HOT! I live in one of the colder states in the US and even here we're in the 80's. Now for some of you I am sure that is ideal but for those of us thick blooded people who can't stand the heat...this is hellish. Plus humidity, eww!

Still, there isn't a day that goes by that I am not wearing my black clothes. The only other color I have is a dark purple haha. So many people will come and tell me they don't know how I can wear black in this weather but...how could I not? It's my favorite color to wear and anyway...I don't feel much of a difference wearing anything else. Maybe that's just me. 

This fashion I am so enjoying in SL has made it's way into my RL. I have done my fair share of leg work looking for places online or in my surrounding area that sell clothing similar to this and I am starting to completely overhaul my wardrobe. That's been long overdue anyway!

Needless to say, when DRBC dropped this one, I was on it! This is NOT the only print that this awesome cardi comes in either! Goth Urbano!

The past few days...it has just so happened that I have run into a cluster f<3ck of goth issues. Such as..well I went to a lil event for SLGoth. I had fun meeting new people, meeting up with friends, dancing, listening to music and chatting the night away. That wasn't one of my issues, but it was something goth I ran into haha...anyway though, so I had to blog a few things and I am trying DESPERATELY to find certain gothy things on the market place, to NO avail! 

I'm in conversations with friends and they're saying, well look here and there but 'make sure its not noob goth'. Why is goth in SL still noob? Why hasn't it evolved as the rest of SL evolved into bigger and better things. Mesh bringing us a whole other world of gorgeous opportunities! Mesh body parts making vampires and all the other darkly/pale/other worldly beings of our goth nation so fun to play with now! There's no need people...no need at all to wear fangs painted on bottom lips anymore! YaaaaaaaaaaaaaaY lets celebrate! Now don't get me wrong, I'm not making fun of those that still do. I know some of you hang tight to them for whatever reasons have you...sentimental or whatnot. But..why not evolve?! Second Life has given us opportunities to grow, to build, to change things and make it our world. I think that's awesome! 

I can't say that ALL of the goth nation has been delayed. Some have indeed evolved, embraced the age of the MESH/HUDS/EVENTS and everything else and brought us some amazing things! I'm so thankful for them! I try to feature a little bit of all styles that catch my attention but when I find some good quality goth..you bet your sweet mesh ass it shall be a part of Gia's World!
I get excited to see people from my early goth days in SL doing new things and participating in events! A lot of them have some really good skill with texturing because that was what we had to work with back then. I hope to see many, many more!

So mini rant about 'Fifty Shades of Grey". I did in fact read the first book. I fought to make it through it though. I tried to read the second and maybe got a chapter or so in and called it quits. I was not impressed. Firstly, the thing that bothered me the most was the fact that it was soooo unrealistic! Perfect man, perfect house, car, jet, etc. Ridiculous! Oh, lets not forget he is the CEO of his company at like what? 23? 26?

And her, the typical "I'm ugly because I wear glasses" type of girl. One who pouts and consistently bites her lip and is insecure and who eventually turns into a sex fiend for Mr. Perfect. I suppose it was entertainment for those that need to read sexcapade after sexcapade. Now that's not saying I don't enjoy such things, I'm far from being prudish but, I need a storyline. I need more than just constant sex scenes. That pizza man walking the door better have a darn good reason. *snickers*

Also, I don't like that so many people have linked it to S&M. A person that honestly understands S&M knows that their version of S&M in the book, was not even close. Okay, okay, I could rant for days but I will end it simply with, I don't like it, I'm not anticipating the movie. /endrant.

So, I have a happy mixture of Zibska and A6D, which is still going! I do so hope you've all been there and snagged just everything!

My shoulder armor and collar were some of my favs in the event! And they pretty much rounded out how I wanted to wear them and in what style. They demand such authority and so I thought I should demand it as well. 

I had a blast shooting the outfit at Immersiva. It's another sim I hope everyone has went to by now and enjoyed. Visually it is stunning and the storyline is awesome! (Far better than Fifty Shades! lol)

Oh and the song at the end about melted my heart. Anyway, go visit, enjoy it and let me know how much you loved it!

I posted some important notes about A6D in the previous blog but real quick, don't forget when you buy an item for the event, you get a HUD. Wear it and go to that designers mainstore for a discount on the second half of the item! It's an all around win win with awesome creations at a discounted price!

Soooo A6D has started!!! I've been long awaiting this event so I'm going to try and do my best to show you alll the pretties, however, you have about 2 weeks (less, it started the 25th, get to it!) to snag them while they are there. 

"But what is A6D Gia?!" Well...After 6 Days derived from the world's greatest creation - none other than itself. The best creation was completed in Six days. 

There is One exclusive item at the sim and additional discounted item(s) at the participating creators home store. When you purchase an item at the A6D sim, the discount HUD will be included, use it when you head over to their main store to receive your discount on the next item! Not too hard, right?!

"But why so much complications Gia?!" Well, with so many events going on in SL, the main stores are suffering from lack of traffic. So, you can hop over to the A6D sim and then over to the main store, and so...you help solve a lil problem! *pats you on the back*

After the 14 days have passed, the special discounts will expire so don't take too long to snag! 

 Each round has a different theme, the theme for this round is 'Chess'. It's one I love too because of all of the black and white and it seems to be a theme that makes designers really reach into their bowl of creativity and whisk it around a bit. 

So glad Dark Passions had a nail set that so went with the theme. I almost exclusively get my nails did (yes, said it like that on purpose!) by Dark Passions, (in case you haven't noticed) 

I sure hope you all have taken to this lil shop because beyond her extremely detailed and unique themes, this woman spoils, spoils, SPOILS her customers! With the sale going on right now, the design I have on is 5L! Can you believe it?! So make use of that tp I will have linked below and take advantage while she's allowing you to do so, who knows when the spoils might vanish!
