Elven Sanctuary {Fantasy Faire 2015}

With over $5 Million Linden raised so far for Relay for Life, Fantasy Faire has been ah-may-zin! I wish I had all the time in the world, there was certainly a whole lot more I would have loved to show you. I hope that you've all been there by now and had a good time participating in the events, shopping for a good cause and enjoying the incredible scenery.

Each sim is just so well put together, I seriously could take fantasy themed pictures there all day for several months and not get bored and have them all look different! 

So they gave us some blogger challenges and last year I took up a couple. I talked about the first time I heard of cancer. It is definitely something I will never forget. This years challenge, I thought I would tap into a little bit of the  roleplay side of me which is one I used to show a lot more in the beginning of Gia's World and not so much now as I am always feeling rushed between this and real life. SO...this blogger challenge states: Faire Folk- Create a character from the Fairelands. Pick one of the Faire sims as their home, make a look mostly from Faire items, make the character come alive. Take at least one picture of that character in the chosen home sim and blog away!

My character is Daneilea. Born of the Sylvan pride. Princess and heir to the throne. Great Priestess of Arcane Sorcery. Her days are filled with magick, music and love. The love she has for her family, her over protective father and brothers, the people of The Sylvan of Spells and her homeland.

Although I could get on for days about what Daneilea does with her time or how she uses her magick, I still have lots to show and so little time so! Moving forward...

Okay so yes, it took me a couple of days to finally blog all of this but oooooh my gosh! The amount of things that have taken my breath away at the Fantasy Faire...I just can't put into words. Admittedly, I was in fact overwhelmed. Like, where do you start with so much awesome? 

I love events in SL. But I love them even more when they serve a purpose.  If you're not sure what Fantasy Faire is about, please do inform yourself! Click on the link there and see why this event gives us all such a great reason to go shopping and snag some awesome things.

I was blown away with the Spires of Andolys sim, well all of the sims were lovely! This one has a  fairy tale theme going on. In my picture above, I am playing around in the Lost Boys hideout by DRD! Yep, no zombies or gore this round DRD lovers! It's all fairy tale stuff.

I was able to take a few pictures of some of the other things that caught my eye while there. So many awesome views so, I really do hope that you've went there to not only shop but enjoy the views!

I obviously had a blast playing with my pics in Photoshop but even without the editing, the scenes are flawless and will have your jaw dropping too. Promise! Also...we are 240K from hitting 3.5 MILLION linden! <--That is JUST in!

Hey, don't blame me for going on a Fantasy Faire frenzy of blogness. We're given a few days to show you so many things and I just feel...so cheated because I want to show more!

The bloggers (and everyone else who wanted to join) were given challenges to participate in. One of them is called 'Why I Relay'. I wasn't sure if I should/would do this challenge but I think it's something that must be known. The challenge states that it "is for those who do have a personal reason to support Relay for Life events and who would like to share it."

Why do I Relay? Because I am damn mad at Cancer. I remember being in 3rd grade and having a friend named 'Sammy'. He was funny, loud, in your face kinda kid. We had this tire swing that he loved. He'd get on it and wave me over and I would spin him around till we were both pukous. Aaaaand one day Sammy was gone. He was also gone the next day and days and days following that. Nobody ever told us why, he simply wasn't there. Maybe they thought we all would only breifly wonder, then go on with our lives but, I couldn't. With help of my family, I found that Sammy was in the hospital due to complications from his Leukemia. When he found out I was asking for him, he made sure to request 'crispitos' from school and so I would smuggle mine out for him. We did this till my sister had to tell me Sammy wasn't at the hospital anymore...he had passed away. What a shocker for me as a kid. I never forgot him or his round face, most of all his smile. My cousin Benny also had his fight with Cancer and passed away in 2001. A cousin I was just getting to know but he was already loved dearly. The rage inside of me was more than I could express and so I didn't. I boxed it up. My grandfather, another one that passed away due to lung cancer. I never even met him. He died months before I was born. 

I relay for the fallen. I can't bring myself to say that they 'lost' their fight with cancer. I won't. They fought harder than most people ever will. I relay for those that are dealing with it right now. I relay to let Cancer know how damn mad I am at it. How much the world needs to be without it ever invading any of our lives ever again.

Oh and by the way, The Plastik made some amazing skins for Fantasy Faire. Seriously breath taking work. Don't miss them!

A lil birdy flew by and told me that even though the events at Fantasy Faire have come to an end, the place will stay in tact till about Tuesday so fret not! You still have a few days to go there and grab a few more things!!
