Gothmas Awakens the Bride

I told you Gothmas by Gaslight was right around the corner! It's here! It started! This is an event for those of us that can embrace the darker side of this holiday and all the beauty of it!

Right now I am feeling semi overwhelmed with everything that this event has to offer lol so much to show so first things first, I had to show some DRBC luff!

Though there are a few options for you from DRBC, I am showcasing this amazing lil gown. I immediately thought of my fellow roleplayers, and people that roam the medieval sims. This is a gown you wont want to pass up. So simple but very pretty. I ran into this gorgeous photo online and it inspired the bride to awaken and celebrate the holidays! So of course, I couldn't think of a better dress or brand to bring the Bride to life with than my beloved DRBC.

We are at the ten days left count till Halloween and I am all too excited! This is honestly my month of happiness. Where I feel like everyone else is the weirdo and I am the one who is normal. Where my year round household decor is more lively because tis' the season for hauntings! Where I feel like for just this month, people can appreciate all my spookiness. So of course I get to play around with spookiness right?

Have you all been to Pulse for the Don't Panic! game? I made one round so far and then went back for pics. I know I will be back many many times, if not not to just hang out there and giggle at people in their confusion. If you see me around, feel free to nudge me if you need any help!

Hello luvs! Although I usually start my blogs off with a lil rant about the badassery I am wearing or a storyline, I am going to do this one a lil different (although, look at the badassery I am wearing!). I wanted to talk about a topic that has bothered me for quite some time. I'm generally a quiet person. My circle of friends in SL is very very small. After being here for so many years, it has just been my personal learning experience to keep it that way. 

So my little rant is on blogger friendliness, mostly towards each other. When I started my little adventure into the bloggy world, I made a great friend. She warned me of jealousy, accusations, and backstabbing that happens amongst bloggers. I kind of giggled and just made a small mental note. As time passed (not too much time even) a lot of that stuff started showing. Not really towards me but I noticed others commenting rudely on photos or adding their two cents here and there on style, etc. 

I find it saddening that it's so hard to simply find people that empower you (and in RL too). Why can't we support one another and share blog posts? Be encouraged and encourage others? If someone is inspired by your style and they use it to inspire a look of their own, can you not be excited about someone finding the things you love interesting as well? And can that person take a moment to give credit where credit is due and say 'Thanks to 'so&so' for sparking my interest!'. We can do these things. 

I have been blessed to encounter a few bloggers on my journey that have proved that stereotype of mean bloggers to be very wrong. They've helped me, encouraged me, inspired me. If I am trying to find a place to shoot a picture, need an honest opinion, need landmarks, tips on editing a picture, ANYTHING!, they're polite, helpful, always. 

One of those ladies is in that top photo with me, yes she gladly went out of her way to let me suck her dry! I love my Kuppy so much and am very proud of how far she's come in her blogging. I'm inspired by her love for it all, her stylings and I adore her for being the friend she is. 

Anika, Purz,  Aarya, & Vita (luff my Vita!) are also other fellow bloggers that I simply adore for being their awesome selves and great friends. Anika is my partner in crime and preferred pain in the ass though lol. She's the one I spend most of my time with, get in trouble with and laugh with. SL wouldn't be complete without her. 

In closing, to my fellow bloggers...encourage, share, and inspire one another. No BS, no accusations, none of that is needed. What it boils down to is all of us basically doing the same thing. Take a pretty picture, share your awesome stylings and brighten someones Second Life. <3

Oh Black Fashion Fair...why must you own my heart like so?! Last year I fell in love with this lil event (not that lil) because it revolves around the color black...and c'mon kids, what does Gia love? Black with a side of blacker! People might get tired of seeing, people may feel it's over used...but get used to that in Gia's World! It's a versatile and dramatic color that I love with all of my gothy lil black soul!

I was thrilled to find that my good friend and sponsor Bcreative, owner of Dark Passions, would be participating in the event. My nails are already pretty much exclusively done by Dark Passions and in case you dont know...she is including more and more mesh clothing to her shop and I am loving it! With her insanely unique and detailed nail designs, we can all only imagine where this is going to go with clothing. I am excited! 

Although her top seemed to call for a deadly gothy vixen type look, I decided to whip it around and match it up with this elegant dress I found at The Black Fashion Fair. It turned out to be a pleasant lil mix of goth vixen and elegance. I wore this one to Bcreative's RezDay party. She's an oldie here in SL, 10 years! And it shows in her character. No drama, no BS, just a straight forward woman who has grown on me in a very short amount of time. I <3 you B!

Ready For the Darkness? {World Goth Fair 2014}

Please allow me a moment to flail...!! Okay, I'm good! I am SOOO excited for World Goth Fair and I can only hope that I can pass that excitement to you all even a bit. 

Covering the basics, in case you are not familiar with what World Goth Fair is....World Goth Fair is an annual Second Life event, officially sanctioned by the folks at  World Goth Day to benefit the Sophie Lancaster Foundation. 

Please, please...if you don't recognize the name 'Sophie Lancaster', I ask you to click on those links and google her story. It is one that breaks my heart and makes me want to support the foundation as much as I possibly can. 

The fair will run from May15th through June 1st with tons and tons of all your goth needs packed into 3 sims! From clothes to make-up, accessories, furniture, avatars, just sooo much you're going to want to see! Not to mention the events. Bias aside here, World Goth Fair events are some of the best (with the best music of course!) I will make sure to keep you updated and list the events as soon as they're available.

My first World Goth Fair item I get to show off is by AD Creations and it certainly is no surprise to me at how ah-may-zing it is! Original mesh creations, extremely unique, Aliza is one of the first people I look to for my goth fix in Second Life. Her shop is one that you wont forget. I promise. 

It's going to be my goal to reintroduce my readers to the Goth scene in Second Life. I don't know how many times I've been in conversations with people (admittedly, I myself have said it as well) that compare current goth styles to the same ones that were around in 2006. Nothing is wrong with that if that is your personal preference but I like innovation. I like the upgrades and new things we've been allowed in our SL and how some creators have applied that to the 'Goth Style'. 

After being such a HUGE fan of World Goth Fair last year, I can't describe in words the excitement I am feeling! Hope you're ready to see all of the things cuz' I'm on it!

Sadly, we're at the end days of our beloved Fantasy Faire. Time seems to just fly by. With sooo many things left to show still and so little time to do it all, I am keeping my words short and leaving you with visuals of these gorgeous things.  I did want to say that it amazes me that so many people join in on this event! Last I heard, we were about 11k away from hitting 4.2 million lindens raised! You guys rock!

Sakide's outfits for Fantasy Faire are gorgeous. I bought this one in two different prints. So sweet and sexy at the same time! This outfit comes with the dress, a collar (not shown) the bracelets and shoes as well, though I opted out of them for my Elf, still adorable though!

Confession....I LOVE Todd McFarlane! I don't talk about my love for this incredibly talented man too much because I get singled out, I get that stare going...you know the stare! I love Spawn of course, my favorite Hero/Villain. I find the story behind Spawn so captivating and unique.

I found myself exploring again. I have to be careful because I wander so much that before I even realize it...I end up in someones home. I haven't been caught yet but I think I would feel exactly the way Goldilocks felt when she woke up to the 3 bears. I don't really think someone would be understanding of an excuse like, "I'm sorry, I was just really appreciating your decor. I could so take a photo here!"

Skin Fair was so awesome this year and I am glad I took my time browsing around. I ran into Silken Moon there and loved on the shop so hard. How Mystic Is Your Canvass? {Skin Fair 2014 Special}

Hello hello luvs! Skin Fair 2014 is right around the corner and I am just.... *flails* The options are aplenty. I suppose we all have the things we obsess over in our Second Life. Some of use love shoes (that would be me), some of us love hair (that would be me too), and some of us skin (that's me too!). This would be the place the skin lovers will flock to. The creators we love and fan girl/boy over have all busted some serious butt to bring us some of the hottest skins! I picked some of my favs to showcase here and of course I'm going to show you how mystic Mystic Canvass makes me!

Before I go on about that though, Skin Fair photo rules for my blog are. I will NOT edit the skin. I am not adding highlights or shadows or anything else to the skin. I want YOU to see what your lindens will be paying for and all the hard work these creators have put into this. 

What I have edited are SL glitches, background effects (only slightly), and jagged edges or broken joints because those last two annoy me so! 

All of what you will see on my blogs that have anything to do with the Skin Fair will abide by this rule. I keep with this rule pretty much anyway most of the time but I shadow and highlight usually for the photographic effect but never to correct the work done by SL creators. I love Photoshop like the next person but it's JUST MY personal opinion that shading and highlighting for others is doing their work or attempting to correct it. Having said that....let's roll.

Mystic Canvass skins, if you're not familiar with them, are definitely not your average SL skins. I love that she (Lara, the creator/Owner of Mystic Canvass Skins) thinks out of the box and brings us all types of skins in all different colors. Not just your average, every day human skin tones or shades of make up. The Mystic Canvass setup is on the first sim. You can't miss it! You won't want to miss it. Especially my cyber luvin gals!

All skins come with Slink, Phat Azz & Lola Appliers. Also eyebrow shapes for convenience, A cup and D cup options, a No Brow option (wewt!) and red, blonde and black brow options.

If there is anything I enjoy, it's a nice challenge. Mind you, I didn't say a challenge that is going to put me in the corner and rock while twiddling my thumbs...just a nice challenge. One that can take me out of my comfort zone and make me explore my own imagination and see all inspiration. 

That is Zibska for me.

Zibska is participating in and sponsoring the Fiera/Blooming Spring Fair which will be held from March 15th to the 31st, with a special event preview on March 14th at 2pm SLT, organized by the fair’s media partner : Trempe.
Blooming Spring Fair is a fair which is includes more than 50 brands, and is sponsored by Sys, Gabriel, Gizza, Azul, Elysium, Dead Dollz, Pure Poison, Les Petit Details, HMAEM, Sonatta Morales, Zibska e Lybra.
