Feeling Very "Mrs. Mia Wallace"

Hey luvs!
I'm back-ish. I include the 'ish' because, as I posted on the official "Gia's World" Facebook page, my computer has not been playing nice with me when it comes to taking pics in SL. I really had to mess with my settings to take these pics. They're a lot smaller than usual but I had to make adjustments in order to do what I have to do. Otherwise, I was dealing with a very crash happy computer and in the blogger world, that is a serious pain in the ass! Okay so imagine it. I have the outfit on, I finally found the pose, I finally found a location that matched what I had in mind, I made any adjustments to the pose, I finally found a windlight, I prepare to shoot the pic, posed-angled-snap! CRASH. Rinse, wash, and repeat. It was just continuous and driving me up the darn wall. So I made the adjustments which should keep me happy and functioning for now until I get my new computer parts in. I am excited for them.
I had to do a quickie to show off the new Glam Affair skin at Skin Fair, which I know darn well by now, the lot of you have bum rushed it and snagged all the things!
I was feeling very 'Mia Wallace' in this outfit so I really let her free spirit inspire me.
If I haven't declared it before, let me just say it now, I LOVE LOVE me some Quentin! I think he's a genius on film. I loved his movies since before I actually knew they were Quentin movies. Pulp Fiction of course, is one of my all time favs. Also Deathproof, Dusk Til' Dawn, Four Rooms, we'll be here forever...just all of his stuff!
I wont keep you for long today. I have a ton to catch up on and still not too certain about this PC but I am being impatient.

Hey luvs! I hope your week started out well. My Monday was...well, a Monday. Overly busy and annoying! I made it through though and I am here!

So one of my favorite things to talk about, things to find, etc. are freebies in SL. Maybe not even just freebies but things that are such a bargain that you just can't pass up. Why? Because when I first started playing Second Life, this wasn't even an option and if you did find something that was free you had to sit in a chair for several hours (camping), even then, mesh wasn't out back then so it was all system clothes...I know some of y'all remember what I'm talking about! Quality freebies were insanely hard to come by! It never ceases to amaze me the amount of things that are available to us now at such a great bargain or as group gifts!

This gown is a group gift from DRBC this month! Are you in the DRBC group? You should be! Dizzy (owner of DRBC) is usually right on top of her group gifts and they are always awesome and very well done! Make sure to head over to DRBC in world where you can join the group and snag this gown and follow on Facebook (linked above) for updates on future group gifts and other upcoming goodies! We're spoiled. You can look damn good real quick as a newb Second Life player. I had a friends sister start playing Second Life with me. I gave her some linden to join Little Bones, and Moon groups. She joined DRBC, FK Designs. I sent her to Pink Fuel for the free 'Under 30 day' skin, and bought her a bargain AO (like 200L I think) at Oracul that is actually great quality, I use it all the time. For less than 500L she looked a damn sight better than I did when I started out as a newbie! Lol people were accusing her of being an 'alt' and she didn't know what that meant. My very first blog post has a picture of me when I first started Second Life (that's not what I looked like when I started the blog! Lol) so if you can go back that far, you'll see what newbie Gia looked like!

I absolutely love love love our many different cultures! Ever since I was a child, I remember being absolutely infatuated with learning about other cultures, their styles, history...everything, yes I was and am that selfish still. 

Japanese culture is just another one I adore, particularly the Geisha. I won't go into pretending to know every single thing about them, well...they're supposed to be a mystery...right? 

I do know we've warped them into something sexual when they first represented beauty and art. 

Although my Geisha is portrayed as a more sexual type, (hey I couldn't help it, I loved this Kimono and it was an off the shoulder only kinda thing lol) I don't want to misinterpret what they really are and should stand for. 

During my role play years, I even role played a Geisha...an artsy one. It was a great time too. I took my time studying them for awhile so that I could play my role correctly and actually gained a nice following.

Any time that I can, I try to take on a style I don't get to show off that often in my blog. This is just another style that I love so much and added my little touches to it! I won't keep you all too long this time since my last blog must've kept you all busy for awhile! Lol.

YaaaaaaY It's the weekend my luvs! We can celebrate. For a minute anyway!

Sometimes in Second Life, I fan girl. I feel silly about it at times but it doesn't matter that this is a virtual world, talent is talent no matter where, when, how. I fan girl over styles, bloggers, SL Flickr Artists, SL Creators, SL Designers....I can't be the only one. I see others complain about it sometimes and even I, oddly enough, have been fangirled/fanboi'd before! Where they will come up to me at event or whatever and tell me they love my blog or Flickr pics and I will admit, it feels pretty awesome just to get a small pat on the back, a lil bit of acknowledgment when I am out and about. 

So, never be surprised if I run up to you and say hi. I am a blogger who still faithfully follows lots of blogs, I applaud and support them. I love running into SL designers and saying hi too and letting them know how much I love their creations. Sometimes they're cordial, sometimes they're not lol. If the latter occurs, I pretend it didn't and move on and remember not to talk to them again. Maybe they're a private person, maybe they had a bad day, maybe they were busy but in any case...I did my part.

So one of the SL designers I love to fan girl over, and WAS cordial with me when I ran into her at Shiny Shabby once, is Valentina. When I run into her creations in SL, it's pretty much guaranteed I am going to buy it lol. I can't help myself. I don't think there is no one general style to her and I kinda love that. I have mixed her outfits/dresses/etc. with many different things in many different styles of clothing. It's unique, it's detailed, it fits wonderfully, comes in many different colors, what else can you ask for? The outfit I am wearing here is just another one I marked down as one of my favorites and received so many compliments for! So I hope you'll all introduce yourselves to that shop, if by freak chance you haven't already.

Hey guys and dolls! 

I hope I am finding you all in good spirits. The weekend approaches soon. I should be happy about it but I can't be lol. I've had the week off, (not by choice!) and will be returning to work Monday. The days off have been nice though and much needed in so many ways. I've been sick and simply needed the rest so I am thankful to have had these few days to spend at home. It also gave me a few more chances to pop in SL and enjoy all the shopping, events, and visits with the people I adore. 

Speaking of people I adore, DRBC recently released this adorbs dress that I knew a lot of my readers would just fall in love with! This is one of my favorite prints but she made a plethora of them, so you have a ton of options, polka dots galore and a Hello Sailor! one that is to die for! Make sure you follow DRBC (as linked above) on Facebook for updates on recent releases.

I couldn't help but take advantage of someones ride parked outside of the new Hard Alley Club! That's right, Hard Alleys Retroville has moved sims! So make sure to pop over and visit. The club is active with some pretty awesome DJ's! The music ranges from punk to rock to...just everything! The company is great and  oh yeah....I hang out there so that's a bonus right?! Come over and get down with us sometime!

A Fantasy Frozen In Time

My goodness! Darn that Gia for taking her sweet ass time to get back to SL! ;) My apologies for the absence luvs. October, November, December are busy for me, like so many other people. But even beyond that, our family was just tossed around in a series of unfortunate events and with the sadness, my inspiration was at a stand still. I know so many of us have had to deal with it, so I know you'll be understanding with me. I am not going to go into too many personal issues, they're a bummer, believe me. But I do want to say something. 

We always hear the 'Tomorrow is never promised' saying but seriously, I mean it....please remember it. You can see someone one day and they are gone forever the next. So love people in your life every day as if you'll never see them again. Don't ever be afraid to be that passionate. You have to be. With so much hatred in this world, be the rebel and love! Life is so precious. I have to remind myself of it all the time.
This is also a time for depression to just sky rocket. Why? Maybe it's that we're so broke. Memories attached to this time of year. Remembering loved ones that aren't here to celebrate with us anymore. It's all of the above for me. It's fucking rough. There's simply no other way to put it. I guess the important thing is to try. Small victories are great. You put pants on today? Go you! You rock!
I am coming around though and have a ton of things to catch up on with a few, oh you know, several thousand ideas on the side! I've been watching and reading and listening to a lot of interesting things that are helping to spark up ideas so, it should be fun!

My other half in SL, my bestfriend Dizzy sent me an amazing gift a couple weeks ago, the LOGO Mesh head! I am so in love with it. It's really gorgeous with it's supple lips and rounded features, emotions HUD and all that other good stuff. All that and then Glam Affair makes appliers for it! I hope you've all have a chance to give them a try, the Glam Affair applier is beautiful!
The Polar Glam Affair skin tone is probably one of my favorites. It's pale...need I say more? Haha. Not just pale, it's just got an all around soft paleness to it. I fantasy-themed pic came to mind and paired with Vibe Poses, I had a blast <3

"She's A Myth That I Have to Believe In.."

Places in Second Life have slowly started to become covered in all the fluffy white stuff...yes, I do mean snow. Right now, I appreciate it. I am from the northern part of the U.S. so I grew up around many feet of snow during the winter. Winter just isn't winter unless you have to navigate icy roads and can sit in the back yard building igloos. Well, we tried anyway. We never actually could get to the ceiling part of it, we'd just get some pretty high walls going before my siblings wanted to start an all out snowball war and then...the walls were no more. 

The sim owners in Second Life have such talent though. I don't know how they manage to pull an entire place together. The smallest details are always what get me. Ironwood Hills has been a favorite of mine, several of my blog pictures are linked back to it. Creepy and gorgeous with one of the best graveyards in Second Life. Make sure to pay it a visit.

Remarkable Oblivion has given us some more wings to play with. So many of us are still in the RO wings that were released awhile ago. Just like those, these are also gorgeous! With a darker vibe though, at least that's how I saw it. These are available at We <3 Roleplay, be sure not to miss them!

Do You Like It? Keep Doing It.

Sometimes I have this thing with blogging, it's almost like an overflow of ideas. I have so many pictures in mind but at the same time...the set up, the outfit, finding the time is always a factor. 

I don't know if any of my fellow bloggers can relate to that. Sometimes by the time I'm even ready to take the picture, someone has blogged something similar and then I will just toss the entire idea out. I know, I know...I've been told many times I should just take the damn picture anyway but I just can't. The worst thing is to be accused of copying someone when you haven't....believe me, I know that from personal experience. There are people I take notes from and by 'take notes', I mean..I try to break down their editing skills and apply them to my own skills that I've already learned. Is that bad? No. I don't think so at least. I myself am all too willing to share any skills I've learned. And just how some blogs love to brag that they don't edit. I brag that I do. I don't edit my sponsored items but if I want to mess with lighting or focus, blur, etc..I have the programs and the tablet to make it happen. It's part of my enjoyment in blogging, we all do it in different ways, as long as you enjoy what you're doing that's all that matters.
Same with my style of clothes. If I like what I am wearing, that's pretty much all that matters. Everyone styles differently. Everyone thinks they look amazing but SL has definitely underlined the 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' saying for me. What you think looks amazing, might look like a big ass mess to me & vice versa. So all you can go by is your own perspective, as I do mine.
My reasons for bringing all of this about is that in one of my groups the other day, I saw a question about blogging and I saw this person being flooded with bad information. I just watched and read, I wasn't about to be lost amongst the others chatting there.
All I really wanted to say was,  1. If you're blogging for an SLebrity status or to get free things, you're wasting your time. While you have one sponsor giving you their newest release, you will realize quickly that you have to buy most things around those few sponsored items. It costs money to blog. It is NOT free. It costs personal time. And that's not all. Wall blogging is awesome but it takes a special skill to stand there and get all the views and favs you want. I think Petra Messiopetra is one of my favorite Flickr bloggers that can stand in front of a wall and make you gawk. There are many more too but she is one of the ones I takes notes from.
2. I As long as you like it, keep doing it. Don't let anyone change it. Don't let other bloggers get you down. We're in an ever rotating blogger world. They come, they go, they rise to the top, they fall. It's how it works. So do it all simply because you enjoy it.
And these are all things I still practice myself mind you. Things I tell myself when discouraged or overwhelmed.  "Do You Like It? Keep Doing It."

Okay okay end rant. This is a late blog as I was super sick the past few days but I'm doing alright now <3 
So I hope everyone has made it to all the events including The Fantasy Collective because there is a ton of badassery there including this hair I am wearing! Reminded me lots of Yolandi so tuuune in like a few secs here <3

Well hello again! 

So glad we're nearing the end of the week, it's been a long one. 

The events that have opened recently have been pretty awesome! I hope you've all had a chance to make it to them. Don't worry, I will have them linked below for you to pop over and play grabby hands. 

Glam Affair released several different skin tones for the Lelutka Mesh head and I have to say, I am in love with so many of them! Here is a closie of the different shades.

The one I am wearing in the picture is #14, a rare and so very gorgeous. For my pale skinned lovers, this is one you will want. With that fierce eyeliner on such porcelain skin, it definitely is a head turner! Maybe it's just me, maybe not but the eyebrows seem to have changed too. Fuller, fluffier and more defined...all things that none of us women mind!

I won't talk your pretty lil heads off tonight as I still have such things to show you. But I will be back again really soon.
